Education Ministry Announces Approved Summer Program for Families

The Education Ministry announced Thursday evening that the government has approved the national summer program for the 5786 school year, with a total investment of about NIS 1 billion. The national summer program combines a range of educational frameworks and services, including “Schools of the Long Vacation,” the “Summer+” program, summer preparatory programs, enrichment activities, academic reinforcement and tailored social support, with the aim of giving students educational continuity, learning opportunities and meaningful experiences even after the school year ends.

At the same time, about 90% of local authorities in Israel, 231 authorities, have already registered to operate the summer program, and the registration process is still ongoing. The figure reflects broad participation by local government in the initiative and significant preparation ahead of the opening of summer programs across the country.

The registration data reflects broad participation by authorities from all parts of the country, including those from the geographic and social periphery, communities in the north and south, Arab, Druze and Bedouin authorities, cities, local councils and regional councils. The wide distribution indicates significant cooperation around expanding educational services and a shared commitment to providing educational opportunities for students throughout the country. The announcement also said the Education Ministry will continue to support the local authorities and educational institutions as they prepare for the opening of the programs, to ensure their full implementation for the benefit of Israel’s students and their parents.
