IEA Chief Warns of Global Energy Risks if Strait of Hormuz Oil Flow Does Not Improve

Fatih Birol, head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), issued a warning regarding the security of global oil supplies if the situation in the Strait of Hormuz does not improve soon. Speaking at an event hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, Birol emphasized the critical importance of stable oil flow through this strategic waterway. He stated that if the United States and Iran fail to take action to enhance the oil flow in the coming weeks, the world should be concerned about energy security. Birol highlighted that the supply of oil remains at risk and expressed his personal concern about the potential consequences if no progress is made.
