Likud Sues Social Forum Members for Half a Million Shekels Over Primary Vote Delay

The Likud party's legal advisor, Attorney Ilan Bombach, has decided to file a lawsuit seeking approximately 500,000 shekels against members of the Social Forum who initiated a petition that delayed the vote on eight reserved slots for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the primary election process. The petition challenged the voting procedure, citing a clerical error in the Likud Constitution Committee's protocol. The party accuses the petitioners of deliberately exploiting this clerical mistake to mislead the court, despite polling stations across the country already being prepared for voting. This delay allegedly caused financial damage amounting to hundreds of thousands of shekels. Bombach told ynet that the "clerical error in the protocol was exploited maliciously." The lawsuit follows consultations with senior party officials and aims to hold the petitioners accountable for the disruption and costs incurred.
