The story · English

The Israeli Ministry of Religious Services inaugurated a new central emergency warehouse dedicated to the handling of casualties during crises. The facility, opened on Monday under the leadership of Ministry Director General Yehuda Avidan, consolidates all logistical equipment, technological tools, and infrastructure necessary for rapid emergency response teams across the country. The building includes a control and operations center designed to enable swift coordination with security forces, local authorities, and burial societies.

During the ceremony, mezuzot were affixed to the building’s entrances, marking the official start of its operations. The warehouse was constructed to the highest logistical standards, reflecting the national importance of maintaining operational continuity and the profound sensitivity required for this sacred task in times of emergency. Avidan emphasized the moral and national duty to be prepared for any scenario, stating, "We pray deeply that we will not need this equipment and facility, but our responsibility is to be ready at the highest level of preparedness."

The establishment of this facility follows months of extensive efforts by the Ministry to improve national readiness for various emergency scenarios, incorporating lessons learned to enhance response efficiency and uphold strict religious standards in the treatment of the deceased. The new center aims to ensure rapid response times and full synchronization with all relevant parties involved in emergency casualty management throughout Israel.
