The story · English

As the memory of the Holocaust gradually fades, a vital mission has emerged to pass the torch of remembrance to future generations. The initiative 'Memory at Home' aims to create a living and tangible connection by organizing intimate testimony meetings between Holocaust survivors, their families, and younger community members. These gatherings take place within local communities, where hosts open their homes to neighbors, friends, and acquaintances to share survivor stories and foster meaningful dialogue.

Held annually during the period of Bein HaMetzarim, the meetings not only commemorate the tragic events but also honor the vibrant communities and individuals who perished. Beyond remembrance, the sessions encourage important discussions and strengthen ties to the shared heritage and origins of the participants. The project invites everyone to participate, whether as guests, hosts, or as second- or third-generation survivors sharing testimony.

Each host receives a special kit designed to facilitate the meeting in a respectful and effective manner, ensuring that the memory remains vivid and impactful. Those interested in joining or hosting a session can contact the organizers via phone, WhatsApp, email, or visit the project's website for more information.
