Jewish Representative in Iran Aligns with Regime, Condemns Zionism as Theological Deviation

Dr. Younes Hamami, the Jewish community leader in Iran, publicly mourned the death of Islamic Revolution leader Ali Khamenei and expressed condolences for victims of regional conflicts during a religious leaders' gathering in Mashhad. The event, organized by Iran's Institute for the Study of Sects and Religions, took place on the eve of Khamenei's funeral.

In his speech, Hamami sharply distinguished between Judaism and Zionism, asserting that the Torah and the teachings of Moses represent justice and divine path, while Zionism is a deviation. Addressing Muslim and Christian religious figures, he emphasized that Moses was a prophet who never tolerated injustice and always chose righteousness. Hamami criticized Israeli policies through Torah verses, stating that injustice contradicts God's way and that silence in the face of wrongdoing implicates one in the injustice.

Hamami's participation hours before Khamenei's burial underscores the intense pressure on Iran's Jewish community to publicly demonstrate loyalty to the regime to ensure their security.
