Father of Hamas Massacre Victim Drowns in Ashdod, Deepening Family Tragedy

A heartbreaking tragedy struck Ashdod when Vladimir Logvintchenko drowned last Saturday at the city’s beach. Vladimir was the father of Vitaly Logvintchenko, who was brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists during the Simchat Torah massacre near Ein HaShlosha on October 7. Rescue teams fought extensively to save Vladimir after he was pulled from the water, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vitaly, aged 34 at the time of his death, had been on a fishing trip with his father-in-law, Oleg Lipshitz, near southern Israel when Hamas militants launched their deadly attack. The two men attempted to escape and hide but were eventually found and killed. Their bodies were recovered after prolonged searches, with Vitaly’s remains found two weeks later. Vitaly left behind a wife, a young son, and grieving family members.

Vladimir himself had hearing impairments and had endured the profound pain of losing his son. Vitaly was known for his kindness, culinary talent, and dedication to helping the hearing-impaired community. His death was a devastating loss to his family and community.

With Vladimir’s recent death by drowning, the family faces a compounded tragedy, losing both father and son under tragic circumstances. Vladimir’s funeral is scheduled for today at the old cemetery in Ashdod, where his mourning family will say their final goodbyes.
