US Ambassador Mike Herzog Honors Bebas Family in Emotional Memorial Visit to Yogev

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Herzog visited the moshav Yogev on Thursday to participate in a memorial event for the Bebas family victims of the October 7 attacks. During the event, Herzog expressed his deep condolences to Jordan Bebas and her sister Ofri, who were present, emphasizing the importance of never forgetting the tragedy. As part of the 'My Tree in Israel' initiative, which Herzog supports, a memorial tree was dedicated to Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bebas.

A poignant moment occurred when Avi Harush, father of the late commando soldier Reef Harush who was killed in Gaza, showed the ambassador and his wife the tree planted in his son's memory. Harush shared photos and recounted his frequent visits to the site, saying, "At moments like these, I feel my son is happy."

The visit also included a tour of the largest olive oil press in the Middle East, where the ambassador learned about olive oil production. Herzog mentioned that he annually purchases many bottles of olive oil to give as personal gifts to friends during holidays. The event highlighted the ongoing remembrance of the October 7 attacks and the personal losses endured by Israeli families.
