Airport City Group to Reopen Iconic Princess Hotel in Eilat After Years of Closure

After being closed for a decade, the iconic Princess Hotel in Eilat is set to reopen soon as part of a new luxury hotel network launched by the Airport City real estate group. The hotel, which has been abandoned for years, will feature 420 rooms and suites. This reopening is part of a broader initiative by Airport City, in partnership with Avia Magen, to establish a hotel management chain encompassing approximately 1,100 rooms across several luxury hotels in Israel, including properties in Jerusalem, Haifa, and Netanya.

Avia Magen, former CEO of the hotel chain Fattal, will lead the new management network, which aims to operate all hotels as five-star luxury establishments. The network is currently finalizing branding and operational preparations, with all hotels nearing completion or undergoing final adjustments. Alongside the Princess Hotel in Eilat, the network will manage the German Colony Hotel in Haifa, the National Hotel in Jerusalem, and the Sea Gate Hotel in Netanya, all owned by Airport City.

In addition to reopening the Princess Hotel, Airport City is developing a new luxury hotel in Sarona, Tel Aviv, featuring 800 unique concept rooms and a state-of-the-art international conference center. In Eilat, the group is also building a luxury hotel with 90 suites, each including private pools.

Airport City executives Kobi Maimon and Haim Tzuf emphasized the strategic importance of entering hotel management and expressed confidence in Avia Magen's leadership and experience. Magen highlighted the opportunity to build a new organizational culture and professional standards tailored to the future of hospitality, with the Princess Hotel in Eilat leading the network's portfolio. The initiative aims to create value for Airport City, its guests, and employees while setting new quality standards in hotel management.
