Prince Harry Plans Solo UK Visit Amid Security Concerns Over Family's Attendance

Prince Harry is set to return to the United Kingdom alone, despite earlier plans to visit with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet. The visit marks the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games 2027 in Birmingham. King Charles III had invited Harry, Meghan, and their children to stay at a royal residence and arranged security for the Sussex family. However, Harry insisted on full security coverage funded by taxpayers for his entire family, which was declined, leading him to decide to travel without them.

Harry is expected to arrive in London on Monday, with Meghan joining him later for an event in Birmingham on Friday. There is no confirmation that their children will accompany them. A source close to Harry emphasized his desire to bring his children to the UK to connect with their heritage, including visiting Althorp, the childhood home and burial site of his late mother, Princess Diana. However, security concerns remain paramount due to credible threats against the family.

King Charles has not seen his grandchildren since 2022 and was eager to meet them during this visit. Meanwhile, Prince William has refrained from commenting on the Sussexes' arrival. Sources revealed that his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, is encouraging William to reconcile and meet with Harry, Meghan, and the children. Catherine reportedly wishes to meet Archie and Lilibet, as she has had few opportunities to do so. Although William currently does not plan to meet them, the situation remains fluid, and Catherine intends to respect his decision either way.
