Poland Prepares for Possible Russian Military Provocation Amid US Warnings

According to reports from the Polish news site ONET, the United States has issued multiple warnings to Warsaw about potential Russian military provocations in the coming months. These warnings include scenarios such as a ground invasion into Polish territory or an airstrike targeting Polish sites. Intelligence sources in Poland have also highlighted the possibility of Russian or Belarusian troops crossing NATO's eastern border and drone attacks on critical infrastructure, as well as simulated air attacks designed to trigger Poland's air defense systems.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that Poland is intensively preparing for various scenarios, emphasizing that the upcoming months could be particularly critical due to the evolving nature of the war in Ukraine. He stressed the seriousness of the threats while urging calm and readiness. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski directly warned Moscow against any military provocations against NATO, calling such actions reckless and foolish. Sikorski addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying, "We know what you are planning. Do not do it."

These developments come amid heightened tensions in Eastern Europe, with Poland reinforcing its defense posture in response to intelligence about possible Russian aggression. The Polish government is actively preparing for multiple contingencies to safeguard national and regional security.
