Tadej Pogacar Aims for Fifth Tour de France Win as Race Begins in Barcelona
The 2025 Tour de France, the world's premier cycling race, kicks off tomorrow (Saturday) in Barcelona with 184 riders from 23 teams competing. Over three weeks, these cyclists will race across 21 stages, including seven flat stages, four rolling stages, and eight mountainous stages, five of which finish at mountain summits. The race also features two time trial stages, one team and one individual, and two rest days.
The total climbing elevation for the 2025 Tour will reach 53,950 meters, covering a distance of 3,333 kilometers. Among the favorites is Tadej Pogacar, who will attempt to equal the record for the most Tour de France victories with his fifth win. Jonas Vingegaard also arrives in strong form, making the competition highly anticipated.
