Tadej Pogacar Wins Tour de France Stage 10 on Bastille Day, Extends Overall Lead
Tadej Pogacar continued his dominance in the 2026 Tour de France by winning the 10th stage on Bastille Day at La Lioran. After a rest day, riders faced a challenging course with 3,800 meters of cumulative climbs. Pogacar launched a decisive attack on the penultimate climb, Col de Pertus, distancing himself from main rival Jonas Vingegaard and overtaking Richard Carapaz, who had attempted a long-range move. The Slovenian rider secured his third stage victory of the season and the 24th of his career in the prestigious race, finishing 32 seconds ahead of Remco Evenepoel and 34 seconds ahead of Pello Bilbao.
Jonas Vingegaard struggled to respond to Pogacar's attack and faded in the final meters, finishing seventh, 44 seconds behind the winner. Pogacar increased his overall lead over Vingegaard to 3 minutes and 36 seconds, moving closer to his fifth career Tour de France title. Remco Evenepoel remains in third place, 4 minutes and 6 seconds behind Pogacar. Juan Ayuso, Pello Bilbao, and Florian Lipowitz all improved their standings, surpassing Isaac del Toro, who lost the white jersey to Ayuso after falling behind by 5 minutes and 8 seconds.
Pogacar's performance on this iconic French national holiday further cements his status as the world's best cyclist and favorite to win the Tour again this year.
