Armani Fashion House Denies Involvement in New Biopic About Giorgio Armani

The Italian fashion house Armani and the family of the late designer Giorgio Armani officially announced on Friday that they do not endorse the new biographical film about the legendary designer's life. The company and family clarified that they were not involved at any stage of the project, which is titled "Armani: King of Fashion." The statement emphasized that the brand distances itself entirely from the project, including its director and content.

The film, produced by Andrea Iervolino, aims to explore Armani's personal and professional journey. Giorgio Armani passed away on September 4 at the age of 91. The movie is directed by Bille August, known for "Pelle the Conqueror," with a screenplay by Robert Moresco, who wrote "Crash." According to reports, this is an independent production that does not legally require family approval, similar to previous films like Ridley Scott's "House of Gucci," which was also made without the Gucci family's cooperation.

The production team stated that August was chosen for his professional experience and style. No details have yet been released regarding the filming schedule or the cast involved. The announcement comes shortly after the passing of another Italian designer, Valentino Garavani, who died at age 93.
