Israeli Reality Star Sapir Harush Fired from Knesset Job Over TV Show Participation

Sapir Harush, a contestant on the current season of the Israeli reality show "The Amazing Race," revealed she was dismissed from her decade-long job at the Knesset due to her participation in the program. Before filming, Harush obtained approval from her direct supervisor to be absent from work, but upon her return, she was informed that higher-level approvals had not been granted. Due to strict confidentiality agreements with the show's production, including polygraph tests and hefty penalties, she was unable to disclose her involvement to additional Knesset officials, which led to a disciplinary process against her.

Despite continuing to work at the Knesset for eight months after filming ended, Harush said that less than a month before the show's broadcast, she was told she had to choose between her job and the publicity from the show. Since the filming had already concluded months earlier, she had no real choice. After participating in the show's launch events, she was ultimately fired. Harush emphasized that she did not resign but was dismissed, and she is currently pursuing legal action against the Knesset with legal counsel. She remains optimistic about the outcome, stating, "Everything happens for the best."
