Thousands Gather at Holy Site for Or HaChaim Yahrzeit Pilgrimage in Jerusalem

This week, tens of thousands of Jewish worshippers visited the sacred tomb of the Or HaChaim, Rabbi Chaim ibn Attar, in Jerusalem to mark his yahrzeit on Monday. The massive pilgrimage drew people from diverse communities and backgrounds who came to pray for both communal and personal salvation at this revered site.

Among the attendees were prominent Torah scholars, leading rabbis, and heads of yeshivas, including the influential Admor from Toldot Yehuda who arrived directly from the United States to begin a two-month spiritual visit in Israel. Also present was Rabbi Reuven Elbaz, a member of the Council of Torah Sages and head of the Or HaChaim institutions, known for his deep devotion to the teachings of the Or HaChaim throughout the year.

The event was marked by exemplary organization and a large-scale logistical operation meticulously planned over several weeks to accommodate the vast crowds. Thanks to divine providence and the efforts of security forces and police who secured the Mount of Olives area and access routes, the pilgrimage proceeded smoothly without any unusual incidents or medical emergencies. Rescue volunteers were also on site to ensure the safety of all participants until the event concluded and the crowds dispersed peacefully.
