Cibus Launches Digital Card to Bypass Wolt Amidst Rivalry in Tech Employee Meal Benefits

Cibus has introduced a digital credit card called Cibus Pay that links directly to its account, allowing users to receive Cibus discounts on orders placed through the Wolt app without involving Wolt. This move comes as the official partnership between Cibus and Wolt is set to end by the end of the year. Wolt recently launched Wolt Benefits, a competing service against Cibus and Ten Bis, as all three vie for the meal benefit budgets of high-tech employees.

Cibus announced the new solution on LinkedIn, highlighting that employees can now order from any delivery app they prefer while still benefiting from Cibus discounts. Users can easily add Cibus Pay to Apple or Google Wallet or enter the Cibus Pay number as a payment method in their preferred delivery app, with transactions charged to the Cibus budget as usual. This initiative aims to simplify and enhance the employee benefits experience.

Despite Wolt’s campaign dismissing Cibus’s attempts to maintain usage of its benefits on Wolt as obsessive and denying the continuation of their relationship, Cibus is signaling that their connection is not over. Recently, Cibus revealed plans to launch a service called Cibus+, which will compete directly with Wolt, with Cibus Pay likely serving as its new branding or payment method.
