Bentley celebrated the Asian premiere of its first-ever all-electric SUV, the Torcal, in Seoul on Thursday. The event marked 20 years of the British luxury brand's operations in South Korea and was attended by Bentley Chairman and CEO Frank-Stephan Welsier. Orders for the Torcal opened in South Korea on the same day, with customer deliveries scheduled to commence in late 2027. Welsier stated that the Torcal embodies Bentley's originality, emphasizing the brand's 107-year history of building uncompromising cars with strong performance and craftsmanship. Asia-Pacific Regional Manager Dave Hayter highlighted South Korea's significant role in Bentley's growth over the past two decades, making Seoul a fitting location for the SUV's Asian debut. The Torcal is a mid-to-large electric SUV measuring approximately 5.01 meters long, 2.03 meters wide, and 1.68 meters high, with a wheelbase of 3.02 meters and an unladen weight of around 2.7 tons. The base model boasts 821 horsepower and 1,194 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. The performance-oriented Torcal S variant offers 888 horsepower and 1,350 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h. It has a claimed WLTP range of up to 600 km, and its fast-charging capability allows it to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 16 minutes with a 400 kW charger. The Torcal is Bentley's fourth model line, joining the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga. The vehicle is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems, including parallel and garage parking assist, and remote parking. The audio system offers a standard 16-speaker setup or an optional 28-speaker Naim package. The starting price in South Korea for both versions is 330 million won (approximately $240,000 USD) before optional extras. Information regarding the Torcal's availability and pricing in Israel has not yet been released. This launch aligns with a broader industry trend of luxury manufacturers transitioning to full electrification, with Bentley positioning the Torcal as its initial step into this market without compromising its brand identity.
