The story · English

A sixth-grade graduation party at a school in a city in central Israel ended, according to parents, in a serious violence incident after some students arrived with alcohol. Parents said the situation escalated into a violent fight, and one mother told N12 that adults who tried to separate the students were hit as well.

According to messages shared in the parents’ WhatsApp group, several children brought alcohol to the event and later two girls fought “in an extremely violent” way, forcing parents to intervene. The party was then cut short, and one parent said the event was broken up by police at 9:30 p.m.

Parents described the aftermath as traumatic for the children who attended. One mother said her daughter saw “severe blows” and witnessed parents being struck while trying to break up the fight. She said the children came home shaking, crying, frightened, unable to sleep, and unwilling to leave the house the next morning. She also said, to her knowledge, some pupils did not go to school the next day.

The parents contacted city officials and asked for immediate intervention. In a message to the mayor, one mother wrote that everyone was shocked and hoped the matter would be handled firmly, with a calming message from the municipality for the frightened children. Parents also want to know how alcohol reached the graduation party, how the violence developed, and what support will be given to the children present.
