Police Raid Underage Alcohol Parties Ahead of School Year

Israeli police raided several parties attended by minors in southern Israel on Monday night, just before the start of the new school year. The operations took place in the village of Menahem, an open area near the Negba Junction, and the cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon. These actions were prompted by police intelligence regarding parties being held for underage individuals preparing to return to school.

Youth inspectors arrived at the locations and found minors celebrating without adequate supervision. Significant quantities of alcohol were discovered and accessible to the teenagers. Police confiscated bottles and shut down the events. Following the dispersal of the parties, officers collected testimonies from some of the minors present and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the gatherings.

Simultaneously, investigative actions were initiated against those responsible for organizing the parties and the venues where they were held. Owners of lofts and other individuals responsible for the locations have been summoned for questioning by the police. The investigation is expected to continue, focusing on licensing and security aspects, as police examine the events and the accessibility of alcohol to minors on the eve of the academic year.
