Nationalist group urges faster rollout of Gaza emigration plan

The Nationalist Hope movement welcomed reports that Israel has decided the Mossad, led by Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman, will oversee implementation of a free emigration plan from the Gaza Strip. The group said the move should be followed immediately by another urgent meeting with security officials.

The decision reportedly followed a recent emergency discussion, convened under National Security Council chief Shmuel Ben Ezra, between senior political leaders and representatives of the security establishment. At the end of that meeting, the plan was assigned to the Mossad and a dedicated budget was also approved to advance it.

Movement activist Sigal Kraunik said, "The security system must move from words to action. The current situation, in which there is no practical expression on the ground for emigration plans, cannot continue." She said the group had recently launched a petition signed by thousands, aimed at returning the issue of free emigration from Gaza to public debate and pressing the government to operate the emigration directorate effectively.

Brig. Gen. (res.) Oren Solomon, another member of the movement, said the reality shows Israel must act decisively to implement voluntary emigration plans, calling it an obligation tied to national security. Kraunik, who is the widow of Be'eri security chief Eran Kraunik, added that there is still no known policy to receive Gazans, and urged decision-makers to stop holding meetings and instead create a clear, practical policy for Israel's long-term security.
