Organizers publish driving rules ahead of expected mass protest convoy

The organizing committee for a protest convoy released detailed instructions on Monday evening for drivers taking part in the demonstration scheduled for Wednesday. The main rule is to travel at a steady speed of about 50 km/h, depending on road conditions. Transport officials expect severe congestion and major disruptions if thousands of vehicles join the protest simultaneously on dozens of routes across the country.

Participants were told to decorate their cars with signs and flags, with activists stationed at departure points to help attach the materials. They were also asked to join a dedicated update line from the protest headquarters for official instructions and real-time changes to routes. The convoy is said to be coordinated with the police, and drivers were warned not to provoke officers or civilians, and not to initiate roadblocks or any action that could lead to clashes.

The guidelines also require drivers to keep double the usual safety distance to prevent sudden braking and chain-reaction crashes. They must avoid stopping along the route, stay in the right lane only, and not drive slowly in the left lane. The document says stopping during the drive is illegal and could bring sanctions and fines.

Organizers warned the protest could last for hours and urged participants to bring water, food, fuel, and other supplies for long waits. They also set up an emergency hotline and legal support system for the duration of the event. If a police officer approaches or asks a driver to open a window, the instruction is to comply calmly, respectfully, and patiently. Police and transport authorities are expected to monitor turnout and traffic impact closely, with heavy congestion likely on major roads from the afternoon onward.
