Haredi Protest Convoys Set to Cause Major Traffic Disruptions Across Israel
Haredi protesters are expected to launch a convoy-style demonstration on Wednesday afternoon, starting around 4:00 p.m., that could disrupt traffic across Israel. The protest is being organized from 19 departure points nationwide, from Safed in the north to Arad in the south, and its stated demand is to legitimize draft evasion. Organizers from Agudat Yisrael said the convoys will gather on major routes for what they called a large show of strength.
