בבוקר יום שישי, 30 בספטמבר, נפצע פועל בן 64 באורח קשה בשריפה שאירעה במפעל באבן יהודה. צוותי מד"א שהגיעו למקום העניקו לו טיפול ראשוני ופינו אותו לבית החולים "שיבא" בתל השומר, שם הועבר למרכז הטיפול בכוויות. נסיבות פרוץ השריפה ואופן פציעתו של העובד נחקרות.
