Panelist Walks Off Channel 14 Live Broadcast After On-Air Insult
A live Channel 14 current-affairs panel ended in a heated confrontation on Friday evening when commentator and media figure Guy Maroz got up and left the studio in the middle of the discussion. The clash broke out during a segment focused on Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas and his place in Israel’s political map.
According to the report, the argument escalated between Maroz and host Itamar Fleischman during the broadcast. Fleischman lost his temper and directly called Maroz an “idiot” on air.
Maroz, offended by the tone and the raised voices in the studio, stopped the conversation and demanded that Fleischman immediately retract the insult live on television. Fleischman refused to apologize or walk back the remark.
Instead, the host sharpened the attack and repeated his meaning by saying, “You are a useful idiot.” After Fleischman again declined to back down, Maroz refused to continue participating in the program and left the set.
