Ireland Accuses Israel of Breaking Promise Amidst UEFA Nations League Match

Ireland's national football team defeated Israel 3-0 in a UEFA Nations League match, but the game was overshadowed by controversy surrounding pre-match protocols and alleged fan behavior. The Irish press, specifically the Irish Examiner, reported that Israeli players did not extend their hands as promised by vice-captain Dor Peretz. However, the article clarifies that the decision to forgo handshakes was made through UEFA before the game, following an announcement by Irish representatives that their players would not shake hands with the Israelis.
