Israeli military reporter warns of serious escalation in the West Bank

Military reporter Hillel Biton Rosen warned on Sunday of a severe security escalation in Judea and Samaria, saying it could be very difficult to stop once it begins. Speaking on Boaz Golan’s "Open Studio" on Channel 14, he said security officials broadly understand that a major incident is approaching in the area.

Biton Rosen said that despite operational gains in terror camps in northern Samaria, including Nur al-Shams, Tulkarm and Jenin, many other camps still require broader treatment, especially in Ramallah, Nablus and the "villages belt". He criticized the current rules for opening fire and argued that a lack of aggressiveness is putting the region at risk.

He said the present policy could lead to a serious outcome soon, whether within days, weeks or months. According to his intelligence assessment, terrorist organizations still hold anti-tank weapons and significant explosive devices, including devices intended for roadside or bus-stop attacks, which he said could be used in deadly attacks similar to the attack near Megiddo.

Biton Rosen ended by saying there are those who are "mired in the data" and those who understand that "we are heading toward a hard event," adding, "I very much hope we wake up there and really move to a crushing attack."
