West Bank Commander Warns of Imminent Large-Scale Attack, Israeli Leaders Call for Urgent Security Measures

Moshe Pinchi, commander of the Judea and Samaria District of the Israeli Police, issued a stark warning in a recent interview with Alia Aviv on the program 'HaMizgur,' highlighting the real threat of a large-scale attack in the West Bank similar to the October 7 attacks. His comments have sparked significant concern among Israeli political leaders and settlement heads, who are now demanding immediate action to strengthen Israel's defensive line in the region.

Pinchi emphasized that the scenario of a widespread assault originating from the West Bank is plausible and must be prepared for seriously. This warning was echoed by key figures such as Bezalel Smotrich, Israel Gantz, and Yossi Dagan, who stressed the urgency of bolstering the settlements as a critical security buffer for Israel. Smotrich described the Palestinian Authority as a "terror army" and called for reinforcing the "security wall," citing ongoing efforts including approval of over 100 settlements and infrastructure development to prevent future attacks.

Israel Gantz, chairman of the Yesha Council and head of the Binyamin Regional Council, pointed out the presence of approximately 50,000 Palestinian Authority security personnel, influenced by Iran, posing a significant threat. He underlined the necessity to prepare for a potential large-scale attack from the West Bank.

Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council, supported the warnings and urged the Israeli government to prevent the Palestinian Authority from becoming a "terror state" within Israel’s heartland. He expressed strong backing for National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Commander Pinchi, and the district’s security forces in their efforts to counter this threat.
