חבר הכנסת אחמד טיבי, יו"ר מפלגת תע"ל, הצהיר בראיון לערוץ 12 כי אחד הצעדים הראשונים של האופוזיציה לאחר הבחירות לכנסת יהיה החלפת יו"ר הפרלמנט. לדברי טיבי, היו"ר הנוכחי, אמיר אוחנה, הפך את הכנסת ל"שוק כהניסטי". "להחלפת היו"ר יכולה להיות משמעות משמעותית לכל מה שמתרחש בכנסת", הוסיף טיבי.

בתגובה לדבריו, הליכוד מסר כי טיבי "חשף את מה שהיה סוד". עוד נמסר מהליכוד כי "קול לאייזנקוט ולליברמן הוא צעד לקראת העברת מפתחות המדינה לידי אחמד טיבי ומנסור עבאס".
