Trump Says Iran Wants Deal But Isn't Ready, Claims US Controls Hormuz

In an interview with Fox News aired Friday night, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran desires a deal with the United States but is not yet prepared for one. He emphasized that Tehran must agree to terms favorable to Washington, or no agreement will be reached. "Iran wants to make a deal. In my opinion, they are not ready yet," Trump said, adding, "Either they make a good deal, or there will be no deal at all."

Trump also claimed that U.S. airstrikes, conducted by B-2 bombers, had eliminated Iran's ability to advance toward nuclear weapons. He asserted that without this American operation, Iran would possess such weapons today and "would use them very easily." The U.S. president further described Iran as the "most evil country in the world" and currently in a "very weak position," citing economic struggles including inflation exceeding 300% and reports of unpaid salaries for security forces and police.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump asserted that the United States has "total control" over the strategic waterway. When asked about potentially deploying more U.S. troops or resolving the conflict through an agreement, he responded, "I think ultimately we will win. I don't know if it will be through a deal, but we are already winning."

In a separate interview with Israel's Channel 12 the previous day, Trump mentioned facing a "big decision" on whether to re-engage in large-scale conflict with Iran, stating, "I have a big decision to make. Do I want to go in and take them out [the Iranian regime] or not. That is a big decision. Anything can happen with me."
