Reunited Hasidic Leaders End Years of Estrangement

מאת כיכר השבת, חיים רוזנבוים
תורגם ותומצת מתוך Kikar HaShabbat על ידי baba
The story · English

Two Hasidic rebbes from the Nadvorna dynasty are set to meet on Thursday evening, ending several years of estrangement. The meeting will take place at the home of their mother, the Nadvorna Matriarch, widow of the late Rabbi Yaakov of Nadvorna. This reconciliation follows the recent inauguration of the Nadvorna Rebbe's new synagogue in Jerusalem, marking an expansion of the Hasidic community. His brother, the Nadvorna Rebbe of Jerusalem, had previously inaugurated his own synagogue in Bnei Brak several years ago.

Despite the rift, which reportedly centered on real estate matters and property disputes, members of the Hasidut emphasized that mutual respect was always maintained. They noted the absence of violence, slander, or public posters attacking either side, highlighting the restraint and reverence shown by followers of both leaders. The community expressed satisfaction that the internal conflict has been resolved peacefully.

Following the resolution of these disputes, the Hasidim are approaching this reunion with deep gratitude. There is hope that this meeting will fully honor the will of their late father, Rabbi Yaakov of Nadvorna, who repeatedly requested in writing and verbally that his sons live together in love, brotherhood, peace, and friendship.
