אלפים השתתפו אמש (לילה) במעמד סליחות מיוחד שנערך בישיבת "אור החיים" בירושלים. בין המשתתפים נכח גם השר לביטחון לאומי, איתמר בן גביר.

במהלך המעמד, ראש הישיבה, הרב ראובן אלבז, נשא דברים חריפים וזעק על מה שהוא כינה "רדיפת לומדי התורה" והציבור החרדי. דבריו נאמרו על רקע אירועים שונים המערבים את הציבור החרדי.

המעמד התקיים בישיבת "אור החיים", הידועה כמרכז תורה חשוב, והשתתפותו של השר בן גביר הדגישה את הקשר בין הממשלה לציבור הדתי והחרדי.
