כוחות צה"ל תקפו באזור בית ג'ין שבמחוז דמשק בסוריה, כך דיווחה סוכנות הידיעות הסורית הרשמית SANA. על פי הדיווח, התקיפה השנייה של צה"ל באותו יום התרחשה ביום שישי אחר הצהריים, וכוונתה הייתה לאזור גבעת אל-וורדא. מוקדם יותר באותו יום, נפל פגז ארטילרי בשטח חקלאי ממערב ליישוב בית ג'ין.

SANA טוענת כי צה"ל תקף את האזור מספר פעמים בעבר. ב-5 בספטמבר, צה"ל תקף את גבעת אל-וורדא, וב-3 בספטמבר נורו ארבעה פגזים ארטילריים לאזור. ב-29 באוגוסט, על פי הדיווח, התפוצצו שלושה פגזים באזור הגבעה.
