Simon Leviev Claims Netflix Documentary Boosted His Finances

Four years after the Netflix documentary "The Tinder Swindler" aired, Simon Leviev, whose real name is Shimon Hayut, has given a comprehensive interview to foreign media outlets discussing his current life and addressing accusations against him. Leviev claimed the widespread media exposure has significantly benefited him, stating, "The movie was the best thing that happened to me. Call me a swindler, call me whatever you want, in the end, I'm laughing all the way to the bank."

Having been permanently banned from Tinder, Leviev revealed he is developing his own independent dating app. Regarding the women featured in the documentary and allegations of defrauding them of approximately 7 million pounds (over 28 million shekels), he commented, "I'm happy to see them succeeding. They are making money from it, and I am also making money from it."

Concerning past convictions for check forgery, Leviev asserted that those involved received full reimbursements, making insurance companies the sole victims. He also completely dismissed criticism regarding threatening messages he previously sent to Cecilie Fjellhøy, one of the documentary's interviewees, and criticized her for contacting credit card companies and the police.

Leviev stated that he now lives as a free man, raising his three-year-old son and having reconciled with his family. Conversely, his alleged victims maintain that he is a dangerous individual who shows no remorse or responsibility for the severe financial and emotional damage he caused them.
