Histadrut Spokesperson Yair Levi Departs After 13 Years

Yair Levi is stepping down as the spokesperson for the Histadrut, Israel's labor federation, after approximately 13 years in the role. In his final message to the press, Levi expressed his pride in having served as the voice for Israeli workers and participating in significant moments for Israeli society.

Mayan Palti will officially succeed Levi as the Histadrut's spokesperson. Levi reflected on his tenure, stating, "I am ending my years at the Histadrut with my head held high and a heart full of pride for years of change and action." He urged a more balanced perspective on the organization's achievements, noting the "tremendous action and significant change" the Histadrut has undergone.

Levi also addressed the Israeli media, emphasizing the power of words and the importance of responsible reporting. He advised journalists to exercise discretion, avoid haste, verify sources, and seek balance in their coverage, reminding them that "behind every name stands a person, a family, and life itself." He encouraged more positive stories and appropriate criticism.

Levi thanked Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David for their professional relationship and collaboration, as well as his deputy, Arik Milman, and past and present members of the spokesperson's team. He extended his best wishes to Palti for her upcoming tenure, expressing confidence in her and the department's ability to achieve further success.
