Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Dutch Left-Back Janny Leliendal

Hapoel Tel Aviv has officially announced the signing of Dutch left-back Janny Leliendal, marking the eighth foreign player to join the team. The 24-year-old, who grew up in Belgium and played youth football for Genk, previously played for Utrecht and Volendam in the Netherlands. Leliendal, standing at 1.69 meters, joins a roster of foreign players including Marcus Coco, Chico, Fernand Mayembo, Lucas Kalou, Adrian Krayev, Douglas Owusu, and Emmanuel Boateng. He is also a member of the Suriname national team.

Leliendal brings experience from the Dutch Eredivisie, having made 40 appearances in the top league. In the previous season with Volendam, he scored one goal and provided one assist in 32 matches. The season before that, he recorded seven assists. His addition is expected to bolster the defense of coach Eliniv Barda, especially as fellow foreign player Shanda Silva is anticipated to depart the club.
