Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Eighth Foreign Player, Yannick Leliendal
Hapoel Tel Aviv has officially announced the signing of Dutch left-back Yannick Leliendal, marking their eighth foreign player for the upcoming season. Leliendal, 24, joins from Dutch club Volendam and is expected to bolster the defense under coach Eliniv Barda. He previously played for Utrecht and grew up in the Genk academy in Belgium.
Leliendal, who stands at 1.69 meters, brings experience from the Dutch top league, with 40 appearances. Last season with Volendam, he scored one goal and provided one assist, following a season where he recorded seven assists. He also represents Suriname internationally.
His arrival comes as fellow foreign player Shanda Silva is anticipated to depart the club. Leliendal joins a roster of foreign players including Marcus Coco, Chico, Fernand Mayembo, Lucas Kalou, Adrian Krayev, Douglas Owusu, and Emmanuel Boateng.
Upon signing, Leliendal expressed his excitement, stating, "I am excited to join the club, I can't wait to start and meet the amazing fans. See you soon, Yalla Hapoel."
