Hapoel Tel Aviv Nears Finalizing Roster Ahead of New Season
Less than a month before training resumes for the upcoming season, Hapoel Tel Aviv is close to completing its roster. Since the offseason began, the team has signed three foreign players: Amir Kofi, Zack LeDay, and Tomas Satoransky, as well as naturalized player Kadin Carrington. Meanwhile, two key players have departed: Yam Madar to Maccabi Tel Aviv and Jonathan Motley to Red Star Belgrade. Currently, the roster includes 11 foreign players, with further adjustments expected. A leading foreign guard is anticipated to join the backcourt alongside Satoransky and Vasa Micić, which will likely lead to Tyler Ennis leaving the team.
Additionally, the club awaits a decision from Tamir Blatt on whether he will remain under the current terms. On the Israeli front, Hapoel is in ongoing talks with Jacob Topin, who qualifies as a naturalized player. Topin recently played in the summer league for Atlanta, demonstrating recovery from a severe labrum injury sustained in December. The team expects him to join unless he receives an unexpected NBA offer. Other Israeli players are also under consideration, with only Yiftach Ziv having been granted permission to leave, though he has yet to sign elsewhere. Most Israeli players hold contracts for the next season, with Tomer Ginat expected to sign a new deal. The club's general approach is to retain players, even though most are unlikely to feature in EuroLeague games.
