Bereaved Families Urge Netanyahu Against Foreign Forces in Gaza

Families of fallen soldiers, organized as the "Gevura Forum," have released a video appealing to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the cabinet. They are demanding that Israel retain sole security responsibility for the Gaza Strip, opposing the potential involvement of foreign forces in the region's future security arrangements.

The families emphasize that their loved ones fought and died with the expectation that Israel's security would remain exclusively under the control of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). They remind the Prime Minister of repeated assurances that no foreign entity would be entrusted with security in Gaza.

"Our children went to battle because they loved life," the families state in the video. "They wanted their children to play in peace, they wanted to bring us all security and peace. We will always mourn their loss, but at least let us know that in their death, they enabled life."

The forum expressed strong opposition to reports of foreign forces entering Gaza for security or reconstruction purposes. They implore the government to uphold its commitments, drawing a parallel between the soldiers' bravery and the leadership's need for courage. The families warned against forgetting the atrocities of October 7th and stressed that the sacrifices made must ensure Israel's perpetual security.

"Prime Minister, the blood of our children cries out: We do not bear this pain day after day for nothing, and we ask, do not plunge a knife into the backs of our heroic children," they declared. The appeal was directed not only to the Prime Minister but also to the cabinet members, reiterating that only the IDF can be trusted with Israel's security.

The video featured several parents of fallen soldiers, including Itzik Pitosi, father of Yishai; Chaya Meir, mother of David; Tzurit Finigstein, mother of Ma'oz; Roni Nisenovitz, father of Uri; Mimi Levi, mother of Tzvi Lavie; Muriel Franco, mother of Kfir; Rabbi Yehoram Vizo Eliyahu, parents of Yedidya; and Yehoshua Shen, father of Uri Mordechai.
