The story · English

Naomi Treibeh, a respected figure among the Gerrer Hasidic community in Jerusalem, passed away on Friday at the age of 60. Born on Yom Kippur 1965 to Rabbi Yeshayahu Yaakov Wexelman, a notable Gerrer Hasid leader and chairman of Agudat Yisrael in Haifa, and Malka Wexelman, she was known for her strong faith, kindness, and dedication to her family. She married Rabbi Ephraim Shlomo Treibeh, a prominent member of the Gerrer Hasidim.

Throughout her life, Naomi was admired for her good heart, noble character, and steadfast commitment to Torah and Hasidic values. In recent times, she battled a serious illness with quiet strength and deep faith, leaving a lasting impression on those around her. She is survived by a large family devoted to the path of Torah and Hasidism.

Her brother, Rabbi Yisrael Wexelman, a leading educator in the Gerrer community, passed away in January 2015, and her sister Esther Weitz died in February 2024. Naomi’s funeral took place on Friday morning at 10:30 from the Shamgar Funeral Home in Jerusalem to the Mount of Olives cemetery. Shiva is being observed at her home on 17 Eli HaKohen Street in Jerusalem. The community mourns her loss and prays that her soul be bound in the bond of life.
