Israeli Police Arrest Palestinian Teen Driving Without License on Road 60

Israeli police in the Judea and Samaria district stopped a vehicle on Road 60 near the Sa'ir-Halhul junction and discovered a 15-year-old Palestinian minor driving without a license. The teenager, a resident of Sa'ir, is too young to legally obtain a driving license. Sitting beside him was his adult uncle, approximately 30 years old, who admitted to allowing the minor to drive, stating, "I wanted the child to learn how to drive." This explanation shocked the officers, as the incident occurred on a busy public road rather than a closed area.

The police initiated legal proceedings against both individuals. Following an on-site hearing, the uncle's driving license was revoked, and the vehicle was administratively impounded for 30 days. Traffic Division Officer Michael Abraham condemned the act, emphasizing the double offense and the danger posed to other road users. He highlighted that the uncle was unqualified to teach driving and that their actions endangered public safety.

This case is part of a series of recent incidents in the Judea and Samaria district involving unlicensed young drivers. Recently, an 18-year-old motorcyclist who had never obtained a license was arrested after hitting two children in a playground and fleeing the scene. The police continue to enforce strict measures under the 'White Line' operation aimed at curbing serious traffic violations and repeat offenders.
