Israeli Counterterror Unit Arrests Suspects in Killing of Caucasian Mafia Leader

Israeli counterterrorism unit YAMAM arrested suspects in Hadera on Tuesday evening in connection with the murder of Yanis Yusubaev, a key figure in the so-called Caucasian mafia. The suspects were apprehended after a manhunt launched following the shooting on Sunday near a gas station in Caesarea. The investigation into Yusubaev's killing is being led by the Central Unit of the Coastal District Police, with intelligence from the Coastal District's YAMAR unit guiding the arrests.

Yanis Yusubaev, a resident of Or Akiva in his 40s, was fatally shot at close range outside a restaurant, as captured by security cameras. He was considered a top target by Israeli law enforcement and the head of a criminal organization operating mainly in Or Akiva, Hadera, and the Sharon region. Police have not disclosed the number or identities of those arrested or their specific roles in the murder.

Police Commissioner Major General Danny Levi praised the efforts of YAMAM and the Coastal District police for the arrests. The investigation remains ongoing, focusing on identifying additional suspects and clarifying each detainee's involvement in the assassination.
