Veteran Haredi Journalist Menachem Klugman Dies at 90 in Bnei Brak

Menachem Klugman, a senior and veteran journalist for the Haredi daily newspaper HaModia and a prominent member of the Gur Hasidic community in Bnei Brak, passed away at the age of 90. His funeral drew large crowds, beginning at his home on Rabbi Shach Street in Bnei Brak, continuing through the Gur Hasidim house on Strasser Street, and concluding at the Kiryat Shaul cemetery where he was laid to rest in the presence of family, friends, and admirers.

Klugman wrote for decades under the pen name "M. Navon," authoring the influential column "Ifka Mistabra," which shaped public opinion within the Haredi sector on religious and state matters. Despite losing his eyesight and becoming physically weak in recent years, he continued to dictate his articles to his son, with his final column titled "The Left Is Convinced of Its Victory" published just last Friday.

In addition to his journalistic career, Klugman served as deputy chairman of the Religious Council in Tel Aviv-Jaffa representing Agudat Yisrael. He leaves behind a legacy of journalists and descendants who continue his path.
