Israeli Forces Foil Weapon Smuggling Near Adam Bridge, Arrest Two Suspects

Israeli security forces thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons into Israel near the Adam Bridge on the Jordan border during a joint operation by the Jordan Valley Border Unit police and IDF fighters from the Beka'a and Valleys Brigade. The operation began after security forces detected suspicious activity near the border on the evening prior. Police and military units were deployed to conduct surveillance, searches, and set up ambushes in the area.

Two suspects, both men in their twenties from Jericho, were arrested near Adam Bridge. During interrogation and a search of the area, forces discovered a hidden bag containing 10 pistols, which police said had been smuggled across the eastern border. The suspects and the seized weapons were transferred to the central investigation unit of the Judea and Samaria district for further questioning.

Police emphasized that security forces will continue to operate along the eastern border to prevent arms smuggling that could supply terrorist groups and criminals.
