Hapoel Tel Aviv Rejects Lecce's €2 Million Offer for Satu Toriel Amid High Salary Demands

Satu Toriel, a key left winger for Hapoel Tel Aviv and a major contributor to the club's recent resurgence in Israeli football, has attracted interest from Italian Serie A club Lecce. Lecce reportedly made an offer exceeding €2 million for the 25-year-old player.

Former coach and Sports Channel analyst Nir Klinger revealed details during a "Press Box" discussion, stating that Lecce's bid included €2 million plus an additional €500,000. Toriel's potential salary with Lecce could reach €700,000 net per season, approximately 2.5 times his current earnings. Klinger emphasized that Toriel is eager to move abroad, recognizing this as one of his last major opportunities.

However, Hapoel Tel Aviv has firmly rejected the offer. Klinger noted that Toriel recently signed a new contract with Hapoel, relinquishing a European release clause in exchange for the removal of a buyout clause, underscoring the club's expectation of contract respect. He added that Lecce is not a financially powerful club and cannot meet a higher transfer fee, such as €5 million, which Hapoel might demand. Consequently, no negotiations are currently underway, and the club immediately dismissed Lecce's proposal without discussion.

Klinger left open the possibility of future developments, suggesting the situation might change after Atalanta's upcoming matches. For now, Toriel remains with Hapoel Tel Aviv as the club prioritizes its contractual terms over the Italian offer.
