Hapoel Tel Aviv Rejects Italian Offer for Star Midfielder Satu Toriel

Hapoel Tel Aviv is embroiled in a transfer drama involving their key midfielder, Satu Toriel. The 25-year-old player has received a 2 million euro offer from Italian club Lecce, which the Israeli club has firmly declined. Toriel is eager to move, seeing this as possibly his last major chance to join a top European league, but Hapoel Tel Aviv insists he is not for sale.

The club's refusal stems from recent contract upgrades given to Toriel over the past year and a half. Initially earning 150,000 euros annually, his salary was raised to 260,000 euros with a release clause set at 2.5 million euros. Six months later, Toriel negotiated a further increase to over 300,000 euros per year, in exchange for removing the release clause entirely.

Since the current offer is below his original release clause, Hapoel Tel Aviv is unwilling to accept it and remains steadfast in keeping the player. The club's position highlights the tension between the player's ambitions and the club's valuation and contractual commitments.
