Israel Electric and Modiin Illit Municipality Plan New Transformers and Power Station to Strengthen Electricity Infrastructure
Israel Electric Corporation and the Modiin Illit municipality have agreed on several measures to reinforce the city's electricity infrastructure following a joint inspection addressing unauthorized electricity usage. The inspection revealed illegal apartment splits and unreported pirate electricity connections causing heavy loads and power outages in the city. To tackle this, Israel Electric will install a new transformer tomorrow in the Achuzat Barkfeld neighborhood to increase supply capacity. Concurrently, the municipality will remove structures built around the existing power station that block its ventilation openings. Furthermore, both parties will seek land for constructing an additional power station. Israel Electric is also advancing the installation of a high-voltage line to feed the city, which will strengthen the network and accommodate rising demand.
