Satu Shacham Appointed Chairman of Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Club

Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball club announced on August 24, 2026, the appointment of Satu Shacham as its new chairman. Shacham, a lifelong fan of Hapoel and former owner of Hapoel Kfar Saba football club, accepted the role on a voluntary basis, motivated by a deep commitment to the club and its community. He emphasized his goal to reconnect the club with its fans and strengthen the bond with the broader community, which he described as essential to the club's existence.

Shacham acknowledged the club is undergoing significant growth and change, which has naturally caused some friction and challenges. He stressed the importance of preserving the club's professional progress while addressing issues that need correction. His vision is for Hapoel Tel Aviv to succeed both in sports achievements and in maintaining a strong connection with its supporters.

He outlined clear objectives for the upcoming season, including competing for the national championship, the State Cup, and the EuroLeague, while keeping the community integral to the club. Shacham has been involved with the club for years as a board member and sponsor through his companies RTMI and Segment. RTMI also sponsors Hapoel Tel Aviv's football and women's basketball teams.
