Satu Shacham Appointed Chairman of Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Club

Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Club announced on August 24, 2026, that Satu Shacham has been appointed as the new chairman. Shacham, a lifelong Hapoel fan and former owner of Hapoel Kfar Saba football club, will serve in a voluntary capacity driven by his deep commitment to the club. He emphasized his goal to reconnect the club with its fan base and community, stating, "I will work to reunite the club with all the fans and everyone who cares about Hapoel Tel Aviv."

Shacham acknowledged the club is undergoing significant growth and change, which has caused some friction, but stressed the importance of preserving the club’s professional progress while addressing necessary improvements. He highlighted the dual focus on achieving sporting success and maintaining strong community ties, aiming to compete for the national championship, State Cup, and EuroLeague titles this season.

The club noted Shacham’s longstanding involvement as a board member and sponsor, as well as his business experience as owner of RTMI and Segment. RTMI is a primary sponsor of both Hapoel Tel Aviv football and the women’s basketball team of Hapoel Osishkin. The club also indicated that further organizational changes are expected in the coming weeks to strengthen fan engagement and enhance the club’s focus on domestic and European challenges.
