MK Avi Maoz Demands Urgent Solution to Repeated Power Outages in Modiin Illit

Thousands of residents in Modiin Illit experienced another prolonged power outage over the past weekend amid a heatwave, leaving families without electricity, air conditioning, and proper preparations for the Sabbath. The recurring blackouts have sparked significant distress in the community, especially during the hot summer days.

In response, MK Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party, sent a letter to the CEO of the Israel Electric Corporation, Meir Shpigler, and Energy Minister Eli Cohen, demanding immediate intervention and a comprehensive resolution to the ongoing electrical failures. Maoz emphasized that this is not an isolated incident but a frequent and troubling phenomenon affecting the area.

Maoz highlighted the severe impact on residents' daily lives and criticized the perceived neglect compared to how similar issues would be handled in central cities like Tel Aviv or Herzliya. He called on Shpigler to take personal responsibility for managing the crisis and to ensure a systemic upgrade of the city's electrical infrastructure. Maoz stressed that Modiin Illit's residents should not continue to suffer repeated outages without a lasting solution.
